Hi Friends!
I'll have to admit I'm having a much needed lazy day at home. Went for a walk with my friend Kiersten and her little guy Silas this morning, picked up a few things at Traders Joes (not a good idea to go there when you are hungry by the way), and have been watching season 2 of Dawson's Creek on Netflix.
This weekend, we took a trip up to the outlet malls in Tulalip. I had been looking forward to this trip since my mom and I were up there in March when I knew I was pregnant but was only 11 weeks so I didn't know the gender yet. There aren't a lot of gender neutral clothes out there so we didn't buy much then.
Well, they have a Carters, Gymboree, and Osh Kosh outlet up there and lots of Memorial Day sales going on. I'll be honest, I could have taken a photo but the though of having to go all the way upstairs, take everything out of the bags, take a picture, upload it to my computer etc just seemed like too much work. So I found some pictures online of some of the things we bought - they are probably better than the ones I would have taken anyway. Score: Laziness 1, Sarah 0
So here are a few of the dilemmas I had while shopping:
1) I know I have baby showers coming up and lots of people want to buy you outfits. I would hate to end up with a huge selection of 0-3 month onesies and nothing else. I know I can always return and exchange things and I know that once my showers are over I will have a better idea of what I need.
2) I have no idea what size this kid will be. I was 6 lb 14oz at birth, Andrew was 8 lbs something but was also 22 inches long. He's 6'4" tall now. If this kid comes out at 9 or 10 pounds (and my vagina hopes not) he may not need any newborn clothes and outgrow 0-3 months by 6 weeks. I have a friend who's 4 month old little guy already weighs 18 pounds and is in 6-9 month clothes.
3) There's a lot of stuff in pastel colors. I hate pastel colors - mainly because I don't look good in them so therefore my child won't either right? I don't mind having a few things in baby powder blue but just feel its boring. I'd rather have bright colors - orange, green, blue etc. I know its inevitable that I will get lots of baby blue and I'm sure after this little guy is in his 8th outfit of the day after puking, peeing or pooping on everything else that I won't care what color I put him in.
Here are a few of the things that we found that I really liked. I can't wait to get some little teeny jeans to wear stuff with. These were all from Carters but I found a cute little green zip up sweatshirt that says little bug and the hood has little bug antenae on it - so cute!
I also decided to make my own thank you cards - found a cute stamp and have been working on them. Again, my lazy day is preventing me from doing any of this today, but maybe I can do more this weekend.
Stay tuned for mid-week confessions tomorrow! I haven't done them for the last 2 weeks - I'm sure I have lots to confess.
