This pregnancy, the first trimester again seemed to drag by but this time I think it was because I felt so awful and exhausted I couldn't wait for it to be over. But sure enough, I'm feeling much better and the last 4 weeks have flown by.
So here is a bump update for you all:
Sidenote, this shirt is new and a little big so I feel like it makes my butt look way bigger than it actually is.... |
By comparison, here is what I looked like at 16 weeks with Sawyer
How far along? 16 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 15 lbs. No idea where it all came from. I ate a lot of carbs the first trimester since cereal was the only thing that didn't make me nauseous. With Sawyer I gained it all in the first 6 months, the last 3 I only gained 3 pounds.
Maternity clothes? You betcha. The belly popped much earlier this time. Been in maternity pants for a few weeks.
Stretch marks? A few here and there but I think some could be left over from last time.
Sleep: Pretty good but that is because I'm always exhausted. I don't have to get up as often to pee in the middle of the night. Sawyer has us up by 6:30 or 7 so there is no sleeping in.
Best moment this week: Got to hear baby's heartbeat (138 bpm)
Miss Anything? Beer. We went to Mariner's game last night and I really wanted a beer with my garlic fries. I also miss sushi.
Movement: I feel some swirls and rolls on occasion and a jab when I lean forward to get up out of a chair. I am looking forward to more.
Food cravings: Bacon. I want it on everything. And turkey sandwiches. I make a lot of turkey sandwiches.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Brushing my teeth in the morning, and the smell of Sawyer's diaper pail.
Have you started to show yet: Yep
Gender: Find out June 11th!
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In. I never popped out with Sawyer so I don't anticipate it this go around.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: I am an emotional disaster. Seriously. I have mood swings that range from weeping to rage in the blink of an eye. Its worse when I don't get enough sleep. I hate it...and feel bad for my poor husband.
Looking forward to: our growth ultrasound next month and finding out if Sawyer will have a brother or sister!
So, my doctor is keeping a close eye on me to monitor me for gestational diabetes again. I met with the nutritionist that I work with to discuss what I should be eating. I started measuring my blood sugars and my morning fasting numbers are high again. So, I'm meeting with the GD nurse tomorrow. I'm hoping I don't have to go on medication again especially this early because I think it means twice weekly non stress tests which is going to be a nightmare to schedule for the next 24 weeks. Fortunately, my numbers after I eat are well within normal limits. We will see what happens. Right now I'm trying different snacks before bed to see if I can control my morning numbers better.
I was pinning away for such type of blogs, thanks for posting this for us. Mark Curry
